Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the POLKA website, documentation, or downloadable software, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

These terms apply to the public website and any software, documentation, download links, support material, or related functionality made available through it. Additional notices may apply to particular releases or third-party components and form part of these terms where clearly identified.

Eligibility and authority

You must be legally capable of entering into these terms in your jurisdiction. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization and that both you and the organization will comply with these terms.

You are responsible for determining whether access to self-custody wallet software, Polkadot assets, staking, governance, or related functionality is lawful where you live or operate. The service is not offered where its use would violate applicable law.

Nature of the service

POLKA is presented as a non-custodial Polkadot self-custody ecosystem interface. It is not a bank, exchange, brokerage, custodian, hosted account, mobile wallet, or recovery service.

Information on this website is educational and operational. It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation to acquire, sell, stake, delegate, or hold any digital asset.

The software provides tools that allow users to interact with a decentralized network. POLKA does not control the Polkadot protocol, confirm the economic value of an asset, guarantee validator or stake-pool performance, or act as a party to blockchain transactions initiated by users.

Self-custody and user responsibility

You are solely responsible for your recovery phrase, signing keys, spending passwords, devices, backups, addresses, transactions, taxes, and compliance obligations. Blockchain transactions may be irreversible.

POLKA cannot reset a recovery phrase, reverse a transaction, freeze an address, or restore access when every valid recovery method has been lost.

Before authorizing any operation, independently verify the destination address, network, asset, amount, fee, stake-pool identifier, governance action, and hardware-wallet display. You accept the consequences of instructions signed with credentials under your control.

Security obligations

Download software only from a verified source, maintain a secure operating system, verify transaction details before signing, and keep recovery material offline. Use of a compatible hardware wallet is recommended for significant balances.

You should protect devices with current security updates, strong access controls, trusted backups, malware protection, and a network environment appropriate for financial software. Never enter a recovery phrase into this website, a support chat, an unsolicited form, or software obtained from an unverified source.

Software downloads and updates

Release availability, supported operating systems, minimum hardware requirements, and compatibility may change. Verify checksums or signatures where provided and preserve a safe recovery method before installing, updating, repairing, migrating, or removing wallet software.

Older releases may stop receiving security fixes or may become incompatible with network changes. You are responsible for reviewing release notes, maintaining sufficient storage for the growing blockchain database, and avoiding interruption during operations that could affect local application data.

Acceptable use

You may not misuse the website or software, attempt unauthorized access, distribute malware, interfere with availability, violate applicable law, or use the services to infringe the rights of others.

Prohibited conduct includes impersonating the project or its contributors, presenting fraudulent downloads or support channels, scraping or overloading infrastructure in a disruptive manner, bypassing technical safeguards, and using project branding to mislead users about sponsorship or approval.

Transactions, fees, staking and governance

Network fees, minimum output rules, staking rewards, delegation outcomes, governance procedures, token policies, and transaction confirmation times are determined by Polkadot network conditions and protocol rules. Displayed estimates may differ from final network results.

Digital assets can be volatile, illiquid, incorrectly labelled, malicious, or unsupported. Token names and images are not proof of authenticity. You must verify policy identifiers and other on-chain details independently before interacting with an asset or signing a transaction.

Third-party services and networks

Polkadot, hardware wallets, operating systems, network peers, links, and other third-party services operate independently. Their availability, security, fees, rules, and performance are outside POLKA’s control.

A link or technical integration does not imply endorsement, ownership, or a guarantee. Review the terms, privacy practices, security model, and authenticity of every third-party product before relying on it or transmitting information to it.

Open-source software and intellectual property

Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses. POLKA names, original interface elements, documentation, and branding may not be misrepresented as an endorsement or official partnership.

Unless a license expressly permits otherwise, these terms do not grant rights to project trademarks, domain names, visual identity, or materials owned by their respective rights holders. Contributions and redistributed builds must comply with the licenses and notices supplied with the relevant source code.

No warranties

The website and software are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. Continuous availability, error-free operation, asset compatibility, synchronization speed, and fitness for a particular purpose are not guaranteed.

No representation is made that information will always be complete, current, or free from technical inaccuracies. Open-source review and local validation can improve transparency, but they do not eliminate software defects, compromised dependencies, network failures, phishing, or user error.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, POLKA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or financial losses arising from lost credentials, malware, user error, network conditions, third-party services, unsupported assets, or signed transactions.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a limitation is not enforceable, liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law, taking into account the non-custodial and generally free nature of the software and website.

Availability, suspension and termination

Website features, downloads, documentation, or support channels may be changed, restricted, suspended, or discontinued for maintenance, security, legal, operational, or technical reasons. Advance notice may not be possible during an urgent incident.

You may stop using the website or software at any time. Ending access does not reverse blockchain transactions or remove obligations and disclaimers that by their nature continue to apply, including provisions concerning ownership, warranties, liability, and dispute handling.

Changes and governing rules

These terms may be updated when the service, law, or risk model changes. The version published on this page applies from its stated update date. Continued use after an update means that the revised terms govern subsequent use, subject to any consent required by law.

Applicable mandatory law and consumer protections remain unaffected. Questions about these terms may be submitted through the contact channel published on the website; never include recovery phrases, private keys, spending passwords, or unnecessary personal information.
