Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. They can remember preferences, maintain security, or help a website function consistently.
This policy uses the term “cookies” broadly for these browser technologies. They are separate from the POLKA desktop application, recovery material, local Polkadot database, and records stored on the public blockchain.

These records are stored locally in your browser. They do not contain a recovery phrase, private key, spending password, wallet balance, Polkadot address, or signed transaction payload. Clearing site data removes these preferences and causes the website to ask for them again.

Necessary storage is not used to build advertising profiles. Because it supports an action you request or a function required to operate the website, it generally remains active even when optional categories are declined.

Enabling a preference category does not automatically activate an unconfigured third-party service. It records your choice so a disclosed feature can respect it if that feature is introduced or enabled.
Back to topPrivacy-conscious aggregate analytics may be introduced to understand page performance and technical failures. Non-essential analytics must be disclosed and, where required, activated only after consent. POLKA does not use this policy to authorize undisclosed advertising tracking.
Analytics must not receive recovery phrases, private keys, spending passwords, hardware-wallet PINs, wallet balances, or transaction-signing payloads. Where measurement is enabled, data minimization, short retention, and aggregate reporting should be preferred.
Back to topMarketing storage may measure whether a disclosed campaign led a visitor to relevant website content. It remains optional and should not be used unless a corresponding provider and purpose are clearly identified.
Declining marketing storage does not restrict access to wallet safety information, requirements, documentation, downloads, or legal pages. The website does not treat consent to optional cookies as consent to receive direct electronic marketing.

The consent record remains in local storage until it is replaced or cleared. A renewed choice may be requested when categories, purposes, providers, or legal requirements materially change. Individual third-party cookies, if introduced, may have their own disclosed expiry periods.

Browser controls vary by product and device. Private-browsing modes, extensions, enterprise policies, and automatic cleanup tools can also remove or restrict stored choices. After clearing data, reload the page and select the privacy settings you want.
Back to topDeleting cookies does not delete a desktop wallet, recovery phrase, local Polkadot node database, or public blockchain history. Treat wallet backups and application data as separate from browser preferences.
Likewise, uninstalling or resetting the desktop wallet does not necessarily clear browser storage for this website. Manage website data through the browser and wallet application data through documented desktop recovery and maintenance procedures.
